The Life Of A Web Marketer – Blissfully Wasteful

Life as a web promoter can be a very cushy one, choosing your own hours and working at a time that suits you. I have been working as a web promotion specialist for the last ten years and have what is known as “proven results”. In this article I am going to describe a typical day that I would have a few years ago(before the wife and kids arrived). I would not change my current life for anything however I do miss those days from the past when life seemed so easy.

It is the year 2000 and I have eight people/companies who I am working for. These are people who have contracted me to help them to obtain a higher ranking within the major search engines.

I have learnt rather a lot about SEO and website promotion up to this point mainly from reading the views of the established specialists from the industry.

I would usually work between 11pm and 3am is this is when my concentration seemed to be at its best.

This would be my typical day:

7am – This is the time that I would normally wake up; I would clean my teeth and go to the toliet before going back to bed.

10.15am – OK; enough is enough I must start to wake up. This is the time where I read through a number of websites and check my e-mail. I conduct a quick search for online guitar lessons for beginners; this is an instrument that I have always wanted to play but just never seem to get round to doing it.

10.20am – I phone the DVD replication company to check if the discs that I have ordered are ready.

10.30am – I make myself some breakfast and head in to the lounge; I turn the fire and television on. It is time for a relax after all it has been a hectic morning!

1.20pm – I could do with some exercise therefore I decide to walk to the shops to buy a paper.

2pm – I take a drive to my local tennis club to play a game with a good friend of mine.

6pm – I eat my evening meal which would normally consist of pasta or chicken and rice.

A quick break from the t.v to check my e-mails.v. I speak to a good friend of mine on the telephone who is arranging a service for me where by I will be able to make cheap calls.

The time has come to do some real work – believe it or not this is the time of the day that I love the most.

3.20am – After cleaning my teeth is time to get some much needed sleep.

Don’t fear business diversification. Be certain to join several merchant programs. Study the merchant agreements. Join several merchants to increase your chances. You can protect your business this way.

Watch current market trends. You must be ready to make changes. Network Marketing is continually changing. Stay open to change. Watch your business and be ready to make changes.

Don’t give up. There are failures in any endeavor. Its not due to poor products. Don’t give up too quickly. Don’t forget any business takes time to build. You must stay focused. Do something everyday to build your business. You’ll see results in the end.

Its great to work for yourself. You have the freedom to work on your own terms. There is a good deal of work to do with affiliate marketing. Growth can happen like in any business. The New StomperNet

Alright everyone…

It is finally here!

The new Stompernet opened its doors for business today after the initial kick off on 09-09-09.

I have personally watched all of the free tutorials offered and was absolutely floored and quite honestly a bit overwhelmed.

I have to say I did not have any idea what I was in for when I started digging in to all the SEO as well as Social media stuff I consumed.

You may have noticed my last post was on 08-31-09.

There are basically two reasons it has been so long since my last post.

Reason 1: I have working feverishly on the Affiliate Learning Links Tutorials and getting ready to release them to you all.

Reason 2. The New StomperNet.

While working on the soft launch of  Affiliate Learning Links, I got stuck on an issue that I wanted to put in the tutorials. I knew who to go to in an effort to get the answer I needed so that I could pass it on in my tutorials.

Here’s the thing, I always lean of folks like Andy Jenkins, “formerly of StomperNet” and a few other guru’s out there that I rely on to get stuff fast from when I need it. The funny thing about Andy J. and Brad Fallon, is their StomperNet offices are about 20 minutes from my home. I have never been there, never personally met either one of them and never had more than grab and go information from their team.

UNTIL NOW!

I have been on all of the GoTo Meetings leading up to the release of Stomper999 and the new StomperCommerce. I am about as spent as you could imagine but I am better than ever at what I do and I will blame it all on the team at StomperNet.

I originally though these guys were only good at SEO. “NOT” They are masters at it and at showing folks how to build e-commerce sites.

Now, I have had e-commerce sites in the past and did not do well with them simply due to the fact that my passion is in affiliate marketing and training.

Guess what? I just learned how to tie all of that in to one big engine simply by listening to what these guys say to do.

So, this is not just a review on The New StomperNet, this is a testimonial on what I have walked away with from listening to them and letting go of some old habits that were unproductive.

Bogus Ad

Google Affiliate and Hiring Scams!

This morning Good Morning America warned against the scams popping up from advertisers tricking affiliate and online business hopefuls into believing that Google is Hiring. I myself have seen many of these bogus ads out there and have been waiting for these idiots to get nailed.

One HUGE give away that you should always be aware of with these jerks is when they have pictures on the pages that suggest they are somehow affiliated with the giants out there. Look out for this type of headline. I have been getting this same ad for two months now. It’s baloney and you know it!

Those of you who know me well know that I never really get too heated but this morning it hit me pretty hard. It is this type of crap that makes the good guys look really bad. I say enough is enough with the misleading ads.

If you have a great product (and some of these dingbats actually do),JUST SELL IT THE RIGHT WAY! You guys are making fools out of yourselves and disrupting the livelihood of those that are running respectable companies out there. I say shame on you all! Online marketing and affiliate marketing can and has made a lot of people very wealthy. But you dinks are laying out a recipe for failure for the newbies who need to learn.
